A newly 18km bridge to be built connecting Assam and Meghalaya

A newly 18km bridge to be built connecting Assam and Meghalaya

Enormous network support for the North East area, one of India's longest street bridges is set to come up among Assam and Meghalaya over the Brahmaputra waterway.

Public Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation on Monday (16 November) said that construction heavyweight Larsen and Toubro (L&T) has arisen as the least bidder for the structure of the Rs 3,200 crore 18-kilometer-long key scaffold.

The four-path extension would run over the Brahmaputra waterway on the National Highway 127 B from Dhubri to Phulbari. It would diminish the separation between the two territories by around 203 kilometers, extraordinarily shortening the movement time.
