Drug Peddler from Myanmar Caught in Mizoram

A 47-year-old Myanmarese citizen has been captured in Mizoram for having heroin worth Rs 19.25 lakh, an authority said on Sunday. 

 

Extract and opiates division representative Peter Zohmingthanga said that the anti-narcotics squad and Assam Rifles recuperated 667 grams of heroin from a woods close to New Ngharchhip town in Hnahthial area along the Indo-Myanmar verge on Saturday night. 

 

One Arrested:

 

Hrangkap, an inhabitant of Bung town in Myanmar has been captured for having the booty, which is accepted to be carried from Myanmar, he said. 

 

The blamed was reserved under relevant areas for The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.

Imprisonment:

 

He was created under the steady gaze of extra meeting court on Sunday and if he is seen as blameworthy under the NDPS Act, he could be condemned to 20 years detainment and Rs 2 lakh fine, Zohmingthanga said.
