The Election Commission on Friday reported the timetable for Assam Legislative Assembly Elections 2021. Tending to a public interview, Chief Election Commissioner of India Sunil Arora said the polls for the 126-part Assam Assembly will be held in three stages on March 27, April 1 and April 6. The outcomes will be declared on May 2. 

 

As indicated by the CEC, out of the absolute 126 Assembly situates in Assam, eight are saved for the Scheduled Castes applicants and 16 for Scheduled Tribes.

Polling Station:

 

There is an aggregate of 33,530 polling stations in Assam this year, an expansion of 34.71 per cent throughout the last decisions in 2016. 

 

The CEC further reported that casting a ballot will be considered an additional one hour in light of the Covid pandemic. 

 

The CEC said the term of the current Assam Assembly expires on May 31 and the polling process in the northeastern state must be finished by that date. 

 

CM Addressing Media:

 

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has said that he is certain about the BJP returning to control in the state. It was without precedent for the 2016 decisions that the BJP had shaped the government in Assam.
