For Two Padma Shree Awardees, Meghalaya Government Announced Rs 2.5 Lakhs to Each

The Meghalaya government on Wednesday awarded Rs 2.5 lakh each to two ranchers of the state who were granted Padma Shri Awards recently. 

 

"In acknowledgement of their accomplishments and their esteemed commitments to the state, specifically, to the cultivating local area, Rs 2.5 lakhs is granted to Meghalaya's #PadmaShri awardees – Sh Nanandro B Marak and Smti Trinity Saioo from the CM's Special Grant," Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma tweeted.

About the Farmers:

 

Trinity Saioo is a reformist farmer who drove many ranchers in the Jaintia Hills of Meghalaya to develop and help the ubiquity of native high curcumin Lakadong assortment of turmeric and was as of late met with the Padma Shri for her recognized assistance. 

 

Concerning 61-year-old Nanandro Sangma, he has raised around 3,400 trees of the black pepper in his home nursery which spreads across five hectares that he acquired from his parents in law during the 1980s.
