Guwahati police confiscated Rs 1 lakh in fake currency notes, and one person arrested

 

At Mathura Nagar in Dispur, Guwahati Police found phoney cash and arrested one suspect in connection with the case on Thursday.

 

A raid was carried out in connection with the printing and circulation of false money, based on intelligence provided by Special Branch.

 

Based on her tip, a woman named Mamoni Roy Boro was detained, and two printers and a desktop computer suspected of being used in currency notes were seized from the home of a Mizo woman in Mathura Nagar.

 

During the course of the investigation, raids were made at the home of Ajmal Haque, a Boko native, and his rented room at Fatasil Ambari, and the following goods were discovered:

 

One EPSON printer, one Heat Sealer machine, one Bright office paper cutter, one ream black paper, reams of JK super white bond paper, polymer paper, SIM cards, ATM cards, various suspected identity cards, Assam Police t-shirt, media passes in the name of the accused totaled Rs 1 lakh in suspected fake currency notes.

 

The wife of the fugitive suspect Ajmal Haque has been detained for questioning. Efforts are still underway to apprehend everyone involved.
