The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) says that there is a likelihood of "heavy precipitation" in this season.
As per IMD, heavy rainfall will happen on October 22 and 23 over Assam and Meghalaya. Also, disengaged and very heavy downpours are expected to fall over Tripura on October 22 and on Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura on October 23.
The explanation behind the hefty deluge as indicated by IMD is a direct result of the all-around checked low-pressure region over the west-central Bay of Bengal and the local which has gathered into a downturn over northwest and bordering the west-central Bay of Bengal.
