Hima Das to Get Appointed as Deputy Commissioner of Police

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal led a gathering of his cabinet ministers on Wednesday, February 10 where a choice was taken to choose World Championship runner Hima Das as a Deputy Superintendent of Police in the state. 

 

The Dhing Express:

 

Famously known as 'Dhing Express', Hima Das is a 20-year-old Indian runner from Assam. 

 

She turned into the first Indian lady just as the first-ever Indian athlete to win a gold medal in any event of a worldwide track occasion at IAAF World U20 Championships by timing a speed of 51.46 seconds.

New Sports Strategy:

 

The cabinet additionally chose to correct the coordinated sports strategy of the state by selecting sportspersons as Class-I and Class-II officials in an alternate division of the state like Police, Excise, Transport and so forth, government representative and Industry minister Chandra Mohan Patowary told journalists. 

 

It was concluded that Das will be designated as a DSP rank official in the Assam police and medal winners in Olympics, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games will be delegated as Class-I officials.
