The Meghalaya government has chosen to lessen the duty on petroleum and diesel in the state by Rs 2 for each liter from Monday 12 PM, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma.

"Given the new value climb in petroleum and diesel in #Meghalaya, Govt. has concluded that the rate for both petroleum and diesel will be decreased by 2 rupees for every liter, compelling from noon of eighth February 2021," the CM tweeted on Sunday.
Protest by Taxi Administration:
The government's choice to diminish rates comes days after local taxi administrators in the state capital here challenged the high assessments on petroleum in the state.
The cost of petroleum is a little over Rs 90 for each liter in the state capital.
