State Funds to be Used to Co-ordinate Vaccination Drive in Assam

Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday said the state government is prepared to contribute assets to the Center's mass Covid-19 inoculation drive.

Words from Himanta Biswa Sarma:

Sarma said three lakh Covaxin and Covisheld antibodies will be given to Covid-19 warriors and other well-being laborers from January 16 for nothing. "This is PM Narendra Modi's blessing," he said. He said the PM had not referenced anything concerning the states' money related commitment to the principal period of the immunization drive. "Regardless of whether the Government of India concludes that states should contribute 50 or 30%, we will contribute the equivalent for we gathered the funds during the pandemic under Assam Arogya Nidhi. This fund is kept in a reserve funds ledger. On the off chance that more fund is required, we will give it from the state government," said Sarma.
