The Nupi Keithel, one of Asia's biggest all ladies run market, situated in Imphal, which stayed shut because of the Covid-19 pandemic, has been resumed.
Manipur CM N Biren Singh on Monday officially opened the famous ladies run market in the state capital.
Closure on March:
The Manipur government declared the closure of Nupi Keithel which has three market structures on March 21, 2020, as a preventive measure amid the COVID-19 pandemic episode.
Biren Singh said that ladies merchants of Nupi Keithels would be excluded from the seller permit charge for the year.
"The government took the choice considering the difficulty looked by the ladies merchants during the COVID-19 pandemic as the market stayed shut for almost a year," Singh said.

More than 3000 Vendors:
More than 3,500 permit holding ladies, merchants sit at three Nupi Keithel market structures in Imphal and every seller pays around Rs 90 as a month to month charge.
The ladies sellers at the Nupi Keithel communicated their satisfaction over the resuming of the market.
"We are exceptionally glad that the market has been opened. We confronted a lot of difficulties as the market stayed shut for a particularly extensive stretch. We lost our pay totally," he said.
A month ago, a free analyst in Imphal had even guaranteed that the closing down of Nupi Keithel may have caused a base loss of Rs 3,879 crore to sellers in the last around 10 months.
