Tourism to be Promoted in Arunachal Pradesh

Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Sunday called upon the people to market tourism within the State through the government's 'Dekho Apna Pradesh' programme. Flagging off the 'Honda Sunchaser go after the Land of the Rising Sun' signature motorcycle rally at Kongmukham (Golden Pagoda) in Namsai district, Mein called upon the people to specialise in the initiative of 'DekhoApna Pradesh' to spotlight Mary spots for attracting tourists and promoting the Tourism sector across the State during a big way.

 

The motorcycle rally will traverse through Pasighat, Bomjir, Tezu (ParsuramKund), Miao, Namdhapa and Pangsau Pass covering a complete distance of 800-km before culminating at Namsai. The participants included 15 expert riders. it had been flagged faraway from Ruksin within the East Siang district. "I am thankful to the Tourism Ministry and therefore the Tourism department for sponsoring the motorbike rally to eastern Arunachal under 'DekhoApnaDesh'. This part of the State is small known to the tourists. The region needs a touch more exposure," said the Deputy Chief Minister.

 

Exuding confidence that the motorcycle rally would boost tourism within the State and attract more adventure lovers for exploring the unexplored places within the State, said a politician communiqué. "Arunachal Pradesh has huge potential to become one among the simplest tourist destinations within the country. The government is putting all efforts to spice up this sector," he added. Mein lauded the efforts and initiative of the department and Honda Motorcycles for organizing the mega motorcycle rally and added that the State is one among the simplest motorcycle-riding destinations. He also informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his address to the state on Assumption last year had called upon the avid travellers of the country to go to and explore the tourist places within the country added to the foreign excursions.

 

Mein added that to rework the decision of the Prime Minister into reality, the Tourism Ministry has come up with the scheme, 'DekhoApnaDesh'. Under this programme, the Ministry has appealed to the travellers to go to a minimum of 15 destinations across the country and to upload within the Ministry's official website so that others also can realize these places and that they are inspired to go to these places.
