In the run-up to the upcoming second and third phase of Assam Assembly Election 2021, Bharatiya Janata Party women workers sing Zikir to campaign for senior BJP leader Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma in his home constituency Jalukbari. Zikir and Zari represent a music genre of Assam; they're a gaggle of devotional songs prevalent among the Muslims of Assam.
Assam Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has been busy together with his campaigns for the second and third phases of the Assam Assembly elections. he's working tirelessly attending political rallies everywhere in Assam.
In absence of Himanta Biswa Sarma, the BJP women workers were seen singing Jikir while campaigning for him within the Jalukbari constituency. The BJP women workers are singing Jikir to showcase that the party believes in unity and it doesn’t discriminate within the name of faith.
Earlier reporters have questioned the absence of Dr Sarma in his constituency before the upcoming elections as he's not seen campaigning in his home constituency.
Replying to the queries of the reporters Dr Sarma said that he has done everything for his constituency within the last five years.
“From construction of roads to opening hospitals, schools etc, I even have done whatever is required to be finished the people of my constituency. Various institutions and public facilities are already provided to the people. The people of Jalukbari are proud of my work and are blessing and supporting me while I'm travelling to other parts of the state to campaign for the party. So there's no doubt of ignoring my constituency,” said Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Dr Sarma’s wife Riniki Bhuyan Sharma who heads Prideast Entertainments Pvt Ltd has also intensified the campaign in support of her husband in Jalukbari. Mrs Sharma took part in several meetings and interacted with the general public of the constituency. Meanwhile, BJP supporters also as commoners in Jalukbari have also assured unconditional support to Himanta Biswa Sarma. Dr Sarma has been non-stop attending multiple rallies across Assam for party candidates that receive massive turnout from BJP workers and supporters.
